Camping 101 is a fundamental class designed to develop basic knowledge and skills for safe and enjoyable camping. The family will learn how to put up a tent, how to use stoves and kerosene heaters, and how to make s'mores on the fire. Participants may bring their own tent to the first class if they want to practice with their own equipment. The instructor will bring his equipment for demonstration purposes. Instructor is Shad Nye, assistant professor of physical education at Tri-C. This class has two sessions March 24 and March 31. One fee covers both sessions and all members of the family. Fee is $5 for residents of Berea and $10 for non-residents. Register online by March 16 online at www.cityofberea.org or call the Rec Center at (440) 826-5890. All classes are at the Berea Recreation Center, 451 Front St.
