Progressive Arts Alliance provides an exceptional opportunity for students to meet new friends, share and create through its annual RHAPSODY Hip-Hop Summer Arts Camp. Camp will be held at the Idea Center at PlayhouseSquare - 1375 Euclid Avenue - Downtown Cleveland - Monday-Friday, July 19-30, 9am-5pm Open to students age 11 and up, this two-week intensive program features hands-on workshops that allow students to learn more about the history and aesthetic expressions of hip-hop culture: DJing MCing (rapping) Dance (breaking) Graffiti art Students learn more about the arts and how hip-hop can be a positive, productive form of creative self-expression. The program culminates in a dynamic performance the last day of camp! "We thought the camp was brilliant ... with so much negativity about hip-hop music and controversial artists, it is great to see the positive side of this art form, which obviously allows for a lot of self-expression and creativity.” Kelley R., Parent "Through the hip-hop camp, my son learned to believe in himself as the artists at camp did. He now brings that confidence to every new undertaking, every class, every team, every performance, every social situation.” Joan M., Parent
