With over 200 plots and 140 gardeners each year, the garden is an incredibly peaceful, five-acre oasis just minutes from downtown Cleveland and the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. For four decades, the Old Brooklyn Community Development Corp. has helped develop and maintain this remarkable, eco-friendly space. In past years gardeners have donated as much as 5,000 pounds of fresh produce to local food pantries. Also, Ben Franklin grounds are a Cleveland Landmark, a designated wildlife habitat, an urban garden district, and a monarch butterfly waystation, with our own honeybees, and an outstanding, free outdoor music concert series each summer.
