The Berea High School Alumni Association is distributing bricks from the former Berea High School building on May 1-2.
The bricks may be picked up 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 1 and 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Maya 2 at the Berea City School District Transportation Department, 235 Riveredge Parkway.
The bricks are free on these two days. The Alumni Association is selling commemorative plaques for $5 each. Alumni also may donate to the Tree of Knowledge Fund. The Tree of Knowledge sculpture will be restored and installed on the new Berea-Midpark High School building. Cost is estimated to be $150,000. The Alumni Association has donated $10,000 toward the fund. Alumni and friends of BHS are being asked to contribute.
If there are any bricks remaining after the May 1-2 distribution, bricks will again be made available for a minimum donation of $5 per brick. All proceeds from the brick sales will go to the Tree of Knowledge Fund.
